So how eco-friendly is Bamboo? Lets take a look...

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing, renewable resources in the world. The giant MOSO® species we use can grow up to 1 metre a day and each tree reaches its final length of up to 20 metres within a couple of months.

One plant consists of several shoots and 20-25% of those shoots can be harvested each year. The mother plant does not die after harvesting, so there is no deforestation. It is actually the opposite, by harvesting mature plants the yield and quality of the plantation increases.

FSC® is the leading certification scheme for sustainable wood sourcing and was created to prevent the depletion of forests. Since 2008 bamboo is included in the FSC® system and MOSO® was one of the first bamboo companies to be certified.

We use MOSO® products because they also do the right thing in the production phase, protecting not only the environment but the people involved. Produced in ISO certified facilities and unlike some bamboo products MOSO® compies with the strictest EU emissions and detectable levels of formaldehyde. In many cases with no formaldehyde emission detectable at all!

Your name badge should last for years, but we know there will come a time when it is no longer needed. Bamboo is easily recycled and often ends up in chipboard. We can recycle your badges for you free of charge, or alternatively if you remove the fittings to the back they can be recycled with other natural waste.

We chose MOSO® bamboo products because as a material they are CO2 neutral or better over the full life cycle, from “cradle to grave”.
